Your wedding smile timeline
A dentist-led countdown for a polished, natural smile—without the last-minute panic or over-treatment.

The best wedding smile is not the whitest one in the room. It is healthy, comfortable and recognisably yours. Begin with the foundations, leave time for professional advice and treat lip care as part of the frame—not an afterthought.
Every mouth and timeline is different. This is a planning guide, not a treatment plan; your dentist should assess whitening, sensitivity, decay and gum health in person.
Six months to one day
Plan early; change slowly
Start with health
Book an examination and hygiene visit. Discuss colour, photographs and any restorations: crowns, veneers and fillings do not whiten like natural teeth.
Choose, do not experiment
If whitening is suitable, use the dentist-guided route agreed for you. This leaves time to manage sensitivity and assess the result without rushing.
Perfect the routine
Keep brushing and interdental cleaning consistent. A whitening toothpaste may help with surface stain, but it cannot change the intrinsic colour in the way peroxide can.
Protect the calm
Avoid sudden bleaching, abrasive powders and unfamiliar treatments. Hydrate, soften the lips and keep food and drink choices sensible rather than restrictive.
Less is more
Brush normally; do not scrub. Pack toothpaste, floss or interdental cleaners, and lip balm. A clean smile photographs better than irritated gums.
Keep it effortless
After breakfast, complete your usual routine. Water, a compact lip product and confidence are the final edit.
The getting-ready edit
Four polished finishing pieces

The foundation
Philips Sonicare 7100
Pressure feedback, adjustable intensity and a travel case make this a refined daily option that can follow you from the planning months to the honeymoon.

Surface-stain polish
Colgate Max White Ultimate Radiance
A whitening toothpaste for surface-stain maintenance, not a substitute for professional bleaching. Stop if it aggravates sensitivity and ask your dentist.

The overnight veil
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
A richer night treatment for the final weeks. Apply to comfortable, intact lips; discontinue if fragrance or flavouring causes irritation.

Outdoor protection
Bondi Sands SPF 50+ lip balm
A small but sensible addition for outdoor ceremonies, photographs and honeymoons. Reapply according to the label.
Clinical note & sources
Whitening suitability and timing require an examination. See the European Commission peroxide guidance and the ADA’s oral-health fundamentals.
