Travel disrupts the details first: the evening clean after a late dinner, the interdental brush left in another bag, the dry cabin air. A good kit removes decisions. It should be familiar, compact and easy to unpack before fatigue wins.
As a dentist, I would prioritise the same essentials away as at home: fluoride toothpaste, effective brushing and daily cleaning between the teeth. Everything else should solve a real travel problem.

Keep it recognisable
A labelled 75ml toothpaste is simple and easy to identify. Check current airport and airline liquid rules before you travel.
Test before packing
Charge your toothbrush before leaving. Check whether the case itself charges the brush, whether an adapter is included and what plug you will need at your destination.
Make a permanent kit
Keep interdental brushes, floss and lip care in the wash bag. Replenish after each trip so the next departure is effortless.
